Unhappy random question about Lambda sensors

Right really quick question, ive just removed myLambda. sensor so i can take my down pipe off, only 2 notice that its coated in what looks like white powder, i would have thought that it would have been sooty
is this normal?

As long as it's a brownish white and not really white then it's fine. If it was black then it's running rich or never off throttle or not actually working.

And it's a Lambda sensor BTW.

What mileage has it done?
I just change them, don't mess about.
Often throw out nonsense long before flagging as a fault.
Only last so long, typically 50k miles.
