A couple of months ago in Fast Ford Mag one of the contributers did some flow tests with his new ported head. The final test he did was to replace his swedish plenum with a stock 4x4 one. Flow through the valve was reduced by 24%!

In my book thats a pretty good reason for replacing the stock one at any power level.

Remember the stock YB was built down to 200 bhp on ford request so cosworth weren't too fussy when they did the final design for the manifold.

24%, are you sure? That sounds quite alot of difference

Yes, thats what he wrote.

remember thats 24% drop in flow through a ported valve at i would assume max lift. This will not relate to anything like a 24% drop in power but it is still significant.

I Would Sugest That U Use An Inled Manifold From A 1993 Nissan Sunny Gti-r.they Use Throtle Bodies As Standard And They Can Flow Up To 800bhp Easaly.u Will Need Mashining And Port Maching But Its Well Worth It And They Sound Amazing!i Dont Know The Prices Of These Parts In The Uk But I Bought Mine For 600 Euros And It Cost Me Another 400 To Fit Them So They Are Much Cheaper Than Swidish Inlets And They Are Much More Responcive Than Standard Idems.i,ve Measured Mine And Im Now Running 560whp @1.8bar (with Some Other Parts I Have Added Including A Gt30 And Motec)
