Thats not the map that Alan has from Garrett.

I have actually just spoken to Alan about this very subject and he states that NO GT30 has as wide a map as a T4 and that he reckons Im at the limit of a T4 so why would we swap down to a less powerful turbo?

According to Stu, it seems, an RS500 T4 uses a 60trim compressor wheel...
http://www.fastfordmag.co.uk/resourc...AF240.tech.pdf

And this, is a T04E 60trim compressor map...
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbo/TurboMaps/t04e-60.gif

This page has plenty actually, inc Mikes 60-1 map, which if he is running 2bar+ is also well off the map...

Thanks Stav,

At last someone bring some decent evidence to the discussion.

From a quick peek it looks to me that the GT30 and 35 are much better suited for getting big bhp from relatively small capacity engines eg YB than the older T4.

Ps Ben just let Harvey spec your engine, I'm sure if you tell him what you want (as I'd imagine Pauls has) he'll do the rest.

Too much knowledge is dangerous! Ask Martin what I've been like!

wish picking a new turbo was so easy!

Not sure if anyone noticed on my graphs on the other thread but the title of the graph was "Run 22"

So that over 20 runs just testing one turbo, and I dont mean 5 sec power runs like on a DD rollers.

The compressor maps that Stav posted are not the ones we are working of I dont think.

Back! been to A1 Rally Sport, SCS, DPE, Reyland and picked up a bufty bit from Walsal phew!

Ok guys, loads of flirting on this thread but the Turbo I am getting is.....

GT3076 with .82 external purely based on power to response from the experience of Harvey's own testing and my requirements. Harvey spent a lot of time with me showing and explaining his test findings and I'm confident I have found my turbo now so thanks for the great service as per usual . Also because I'll be running T6 I won't have to drop the compression any further Now I need to buy all the rest of the shit that goes with it

Also thanks for the all the help today with the hydraulic clutch Martin and Tony, was a pleasure to deal with

On a final note I didn't get the impression Harvey shared Mikes views on the roller T4

I have a spare T6 2000 (same spec as mine) but you don't really need it L8 is king for most applications especially when you have access to Monsieur Norris Dont ever underestimate the power of a std ecu in conjuction with a short guy that properly understands it !!!!

It had to be a quick peek as the wife was struggling to put our 8 month old teething boy to bed and felt a bit guilty just sat there sufing the net!

It would seem that this new BB T4 might not run the same compresssor wheel as the normal T4??

I guess only AVA have the info and if they are not willing to be open about it thats the end.

Maybe its got a GT30 or 35 wheel in it?? Ha!

If you were to read later in this thread you would see it seems that Harvey gibbs seems to actually prefer the GT turbos.

As you seem to be making assumptions about the level of peoples knowledge I would say that being able to read a compressor map in the first place would be a good qualification to comment on this thread... and i'm pretty sure that rules you out!

Cool. All we need know is some one with a RS500 T4 that can measure the compressor wheel inducer and exducer diameter for us.

Any ideas? Mr Hadland, have you got one sitting around?
