I hope stage 3 is nicer because I'm changing my 2 wheel drive sapph from Gunship to stage 3 in a few weeks Have to agree about the 2 wheel drive ones being nicest to drive.

small turbo Escort for lanes/B roads, so so so nice to drive with a stg1 or 305 conversion, instant boost and torque, nice big overboost step as well. 2wd saff for hooning around

I dont like the 4x4 sapph gearbox feel, the 2wd feels more positive. and the 4x4 feels a bit boged down even on normal pulling away. the escos feels a bit tall and blocky (hard to describe really) just goes on feel of the car for me so the 2wd wins it for me. but the escos without a doubt gets more attention when driving.

2wd saff drives best
3 door best for looks
Escos st is probably most reliable

And when modified is doesnt make a lot of difference because you will be using similar parts to modify either model. But it will cost you 4k more to modify 4x4 due to transmission.
