Default Driving with mot couple days out

What are the police likely to do, if you've booked an appointment, car is 100% roadworthy, yet mot has lapsed a couple days?
Every fucking year I check ticket too late...

Similar thing to the post you made on Bonus Boys thread about car tax. If caught you will most likely be fined and also possibly penalised for having no insurance as this is now void till the car is M.O.T'd. As you said "for a couple of days is it worth it?"

Apparently if your not MOT'd your insurance doesn;t cover you either.

the No MOT void insurance thing is a load of bollocks, they can only give you points for an unroadworthy vehicle, no MOT is just a fine, not an endorsable offence.

Try telling that to the Procurator Fiscal!

No MOT doesn't invalidate insurance, if car is roadworthy it's roadworthy, a bit of paper is not the be all and end all of judging a cars roadworthiness. It's what they use granted, but that's a discussion for another thread really.
I'm not cycling to work 15 miles at 2 in the morning
Will have to take the Tommi

If you have an MOT booked and your directly on your way to the testing station then your insurance is valid and you're ok to drive

So I believed, and many other people too. My lawyer agreed, my insurance company were happy to provide a letter saying they would have covered me had the accident been my fault, but the other persons insurance company said they wouldn;t pay out as I was on my way for an MOT. And the police did charge me with no mot and no insurance.
The case did go to court, various times, so the PF obviously did think there was a case to answer. And it did take a lot of work to get me off with it.

You are all posting things like insurance covers you when you dont have an mot, mot isn;t sign of roadworthiness etc. Even the person asking the original question. I have been in the situation and can tell you all that you're wrong.

What proves this is bollocks is people wouldn't be prosecuted for no MOT, they would be prosecuted for no insurance, which is much more serious...

Wrong!!

Anyway, In answer to your original question I got caught with no MOT about 6 years ago, got away with it fine, was honest and said I didn't know when it expired, got a new test done to show the car was fine, handed that in.

All I got was a letter from Dorset HQ saying don't do it again

Just a couple days lapsed, as per first post.
Cheers.

If I murder someone, but I only think about it for 2 days afterwards, does that mean its not illegal?

My insurance makes no mention of an MOT, just that it needs to be roadworthy, which it is, so I'll be insured.
Not difficult to understand really.

My insurance company provided a letter to the courts, stating that they would cover me. The Procurator fiscal still took me to court. You asked a question, I gave you the correct answer, now stop being a knob and get an mot

Scotland might be different? They have thier own laws on a lot of things. Anyway, an MOT only states that the car is roadworthy at the time of the test, not 15 mins or 364.99 days after

I'll be sure to forward that onto a few of our insurers for a laugh then!

I love people that believe everything they read on the net!

I am, thursday.
Maybe as I am always polite with the police it would be no big deal huh?

No MOT is non endorsable as far as I can see from conviction codes.

As Will has just said, only means car was roadworthy at time of test.
So, car will be roadworthy, and be insured, and no mot is non endorsable, and I don't talk to police like they're cunts like perhaps you did, so all should be well.

Forward it to mine then, whom make no mention of requiring an mot.
