Default Brunters today

Just heard that a vauxhall tigra (NOT the one from TOTB) has just run 182mph.

Thats pretty cool I reckon for a hairdressers car!

Gav and Jonboy from PF with their "500 quid nova" have done a 0-100 of under 9.5 as well apprently

Yeah its a cool car.

There is a silver nova there today though gets my respect.

On saturday it went into meltdown on the rollers at jamsport in the afternoon on a rolling road day.

So they stuck it on an A frame and towed it back to leeds, ripped the engine out, and had another one built up and in and running again by the time they went to bed in the early hours of sunday morning.
Proper fucking legends

So I hope he has a good day today after all the hard work

Any pictures of the Tigra? That must be scary in such a car at such speeds.

182mph is mentalist at Brunters. I mean, how many Cossies etc have managed that there, never mind a bloody Tigra. Fantastic, esp as it looks so ordinary.

Good stuff all round it sounds, no noise problems stopping play, and a couple hours left for some more mental speeds.

Shame I was too busy to go, but im gettin my car back later I think, which more than makes up for it

I'm sure the car has done an 11.9 @ 130+

Built it all himself.

Why don't you get more FWD Fords pushing the boundry like this?

Yeah its done an 11 at 132 IIRC mate.

The reason you dont get many FWD fords pushing the boudary, is if you want to really spend money on a ford, it makes more sense to get a cossie IMHO!

But bear in mind sunny ran what a 178 about 3 years ago?

11 doesnt sound a lot TBH, quite surprised there are so few, but then I guess not that big a percentage of the people who have them want to run them at brunters TBH!

takes a real fast car to do over 180 at brunters, bearing in mind a ferrari 360 cant manage it.

I doubt the whole project will stand him at what a lot of people spend on cossies.

What is the fastest FWD down Brunters? Has Andy Nicholls beaten this? Certainly his is a more powerful, and far superior 1/4 mile car.

This Tigra is the fastest I can think of, but im prob wrong

Andy Nichols was invited but his car wasnt ready. Has ran a 10.2@140+ tho!

Andys car prob wouldnt get past current Brunters noise strictness anyhow

IIRC Andy got to 167 when we timed him last, then the CV joint gave way stopping play BUT he got there stupidly fast, ie nowhere near even the crest of the hill- was bastard quick!

Was this the FWD shootout I heard of? OR a pure Vauxhall thing?

Fantastic FWD times there, well done to all involved, must be chuffed!

9.5 for the 500 nova is fantastic too

We have timed Novas at sub5 to 60 and 9.5 to 100 before, they can be fappin fast.

Was a general FWD thrash, was Vauxhalls, Seat, VW, Ford, Honda, and cant remember what else, just anyone who had a powerful FWD and was happy to prove how fast it was.

Was some decent times all round I understand, just obv 180+ overshadows everything of course, lol.

Dozens of High Powered Cossie have tried to crack 180 at Brunters most failed. 6 years ago only Mr. Hadland had done it, MikeR was the second, those were the days.

Yeah I heard about the gearbox issue, 16 mullered valves from the 3nd to first shift!

But TBH, knowing those lads, it'll probably be running again by the weekend anyway, lol

What is classed as the fastest FWD car then that is still in road legal form.

Presuming
179.8 for paul J in the fiesta
182 for the tigra.......

There are quicker cars than the tigra down the strip.

AN Rover and a Mk2 Golf have both done 10's that I can think of straight off top of my head.

But top speed nobody can touch him??

I'm more impressed by the Rover and Golf, but its still an amazing achievment. I've been told he had 1000rpm left. Not sure how ture that is at the moment. Also he had some harsh cross winds to contend with. Could be more from it? And I've no doubt the engine is not in its final evolution yet.
