Default Any NMS tuned/mapped users here pls post spec and power

Hi just wondering if any of you fella's have had their cosworths mapped/setup by Norris Motosport. If so just wondering what specs are they and how/what kinda boost is it running and if you've had it rolling roaded.

Just wondering as my stg3 saph

t34.48
pace 500 i/c
greens etc

Peaks at 30 psi, holds 26 through out mid-range and finally tails off to hold 20psi at top end limiter. Turned out to be 292bhp/ 377ft.lb

Is that about right? Gotta admit love the car after Karl messed around with it but the 292bhp dont appeal to me lol

Is it stage 3 or gunship conversion? Torque is very good, but BHP seems down a bit for stage 3. But I bet its lovely to drive, and numbers are just numbers.

Well its supposed to be a stg3+ got all the bits there not a gunship conversion. Yeh thats what i though bhp is down just wondering if holding 20psi at top end has anything to do with it or not really?

What bits? What mileage on engine? I'm not an expert but the bhp does seem a bit low. How does it drive though? Again, I bet it is nice midrange with all that torque.

Why does your dyno graph stop @ 5k revs? Seems a bit low. Did dyno operator advise on any apparant probs? Karl certainly knows his stuff, so doubt he would have capped boost low for no good reason.

I'd say that was dyno problem.

I know Karl very well- he's a very very good friend of mine and I know how he works.. If there was an issue with your car to make it produce less than normal BHP for your spec then he would of said I am sure.

BHP seems low mate- but if you only want the figure for pub ammo...

Never heard of the dyno.. take it to a well used and tested one.

Nobles in CHesterfield is a good place.

bigchez spec wise its got:

group A h/g
group A coil
pace rs500 i/c
t34.48
greens
mangoose exhaust

milage is around 106,000. Havent a clue why its stopping at 5k yeh its got a nice punch but havent really driven another stg3 cossy to compare it with. You reckon there might be soming wrong?

yeh no dig at Karl hes a top man looked after us very well and learned some stuff from him. I went to Nobles with the PF meet few weeks back but for some reason the car decided to missfire on the rollers (was alright before that even when we drove up) now its misses at 4k.

its produced around 282 bhp/366bhp. Nobles said i need to look into the miss-fire but i wasn't really happy why that happend as prior on going onto the rollers that day the car was driving bang on. Havent had time with it recently as ive just bought an M3 but wanna get all this niggly bits sorted so i can enjoy it again

I'm wondering why you have a graph stopping at 5k rpm.....the peak power will not be at 5k....it'll be higher which might explain why your not seeing higher figures.

i agree but it does look as tho power is falling at that point anyway.
did the rolling road have a good fan ?
i recently had a run on RR with not so good fan and
i had rubbish intercooler on, my peak power was 5k
when act's went high and ignition retard was dialled in.
but previous RR with a strong fan showed peak power
(and more of it) at almost 6k

leecavturbo yeh both the rolling roads i took it have had decent fans and am running a pace rs500 cooler. I did however change the inlet manifold gasket a week after it was mapped as Karl suggested it was on its way out so it'll be a good idea to replace it. Can't here no leaks and pretty sure fitted it properly.

Could that have anything to do with it?

To be fair Reiss, when I drove your car it pulled like an absolute bastard .... i was Very impressed with it, considering you were saying it was down on power or thats what it felt like, although I couldn't really open it up through brum properly it felt very very strong. Top end miss is normally ( in my experiance) ignition related, and for the price of a dizzy cap and rotor arm, set of decent correctly capped plugs it usually sorts it, but just to be safe I would check your fuel pump voltages to make sure you are getting 12v+ under heavy load.

Its just that ive recenlty bought an m3 and the cossy has been left lonely as i cant be arsed with it at the moment. Just wanna get the miss sorted and few other niggly bits out the way and if soming is wrong with it why its stopping it 5k i mite aswell see to it now i guess.

Stu you don't realize how close it is to you finding an Escos on your doorstep in a wicker basket with a note saying please take care of me ... I'm fucking stumped as to why I have no fuel or spark ... Everything is as it should be, timing is spot on, loom is fine, alarm/immob is working fine, all the plugs are on correctly, CPS is gapped ok, pump is priming and cutting off after the prime cycle, crash switch is down and locked in, even borrowed Jamies snap-on scanner but to no avail as the connections won't fit .... Still waiting for parts that were ordered in July last year, beginning to loose heart a bit ... Why do we bother?

didn't think unplugging the chip would work due to the injectors being different? Will have a go tommorow though!

sorry the thread asked for actual power figures, that is what the car made on reputable rolling road not what i think its producing.
ps. its a 63 housing on there with cut back blades so it is laggy but gives more top end
