Default Rear boot lock problems

My wifes Puma's boot will not open, the boot lock seems to be seized, is there a way to open the boot from the inside or un seize the lock itself, I have tried wd40 over a period of a couple of days but it hasn't helped

Cheers

drop the rear seats then undo the trim panel on the boot lid , if you feel around by the latch you should be able to to find the rods from the barrel , push this away from the barrel and it should pop the boot open

You'll probably have to sacrifice the panel to get it off, but once you're in it should be straight forward.
