Default MCP in basic networking ...

Anyone done the course?

Employer is going to send me on it, anyone know the name for it, google is not being my friend at the moment.

Also whats the course like, syllabus etc?

MCP is basically what you are once you pass an exam from within its career map.

So Entry @ MCP then the likes of MCSE and so on, the more exams you do.

Eg, I am currently working on Cisco CCNA.

It is based on two Levels ICND1&ICND2, I have ICND 1 and passed the exam which makes me a CCENT.
Once I have done Part to I can then call my self a CCNA.

Used to be called Network Essentials, but that alone didnt give you MCP.

Fuck knows what its called now.

Sat the exam without doing the course and passed no probs.

Have got more MCPs than I can shake a stick at tho.....

When I did my exam, it was called Network Essentials which shows how long ago I sat the exam.

Below is the Microsoft qualifications excerpt from CV:

Ha ha. I took a Ł20k paycut to move to my current job.

Good luck with the MCP/MCSE's. People may knock them, but they serve as a useful barometer of knowledge.

Cisco qualifications are worth getting tho.

Yeh a few of my mates are doing the Cisco stuff

Its only the networking fundamentals mcp i will be doing and have been doing networking for ages

So I should be ok, just want something on paper

They are all NT/2k

You need to be sitting 2k3/MCTS ideally.
