Whats a Flange Towbar?

Looking to buy a towbar for me Mondeo n some on offer list it as a Flange towbar? What odds does that make?

Needs a separate bolt on ball, been used for years.
As opposed to swan neck which includes a ball on the end.

It's cheaper to use a flange type if you are using a stabiliser, bike rack etc that bolts onto the flange with swan neck you'll need an adapter.
