Default Numpty of the day

Heading into town today with my wife and 3yr old daughter in the car (evo)

Was going through roadworks on our main Dual Carrigeway so the road angel was hovering around the 38 / 39mph (its down to a 40mph limit at the moment)

Spotted a white 2wd saff in my mirror pulling out of a slip road and booting it up ending up just off my bumper. Pulled into the inside lane and he passed then pulled in in front of me.

I noticed he had a female in the passenger seat and a kiddie in the back and also had a bike rack on the back with 2 bikes on it.

Took a bit of notice really as its nice to see a cosworth on the go nowadays especially quite a tidy one.

Anyway we get through the roadworks (about 2 miles) and he is about 10 car lenghts in front as i get through the National speed limit sign. He must still be sitting at 40ish in the inside lane and i am slowly gaining speed in the outside one.

Now heres what happened.

I get to about 5 car lenghts from him and the arse of his car hits the deck in a plume of blue smoke and he's off like a good cossie should be. However so is his sons Spider man bike bouncing down the road at what must be 80mph so as we reach it we are dodging what i can only guess is pedals / bits of seat ect ect

We are both in a bit of shock really as i had to swerve to avoid bits and we were only sitting at about 60

He slows right down so i say to the wife that i will stop and check if i can do anything however as i catch him up he does the exact same thing again this time its a £uckin adult bike thats decided its had enough and is leaving the building. Luckily its front wheel caught the cycle rack so he just dragged it along the road.

Flashed my lights at him and he decided to pull in but i'm £ucked if i was going to stop after he tried a 2nd time to bait me into a race.

I can only guess its a sign of the times that numptys like this can afford decent cossies and i can only assume he was trying to show me that his cars faster than mine for that i'm greatfull

Must be my age but i dont find this impressive at all on a public road never mind the fact we both had chilldren in the cars and he could have caused a serious accident

I have had cossies for over 10 years and still have one tucked away so am well aware of how quick they can be but theres a time and a place and that dont involve bike racks

Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when his missus stepped out the car and only found 1 bike there hanging by its front wheel

so you never put your foot down in your cossie then?
he was only doing what we have all done at some point in our driving career.
although he should have tied his bikes on properly!

I think the point he was making was the fact he was being a gimp with a kid in his car + bikes on the back not the fact he was speeding.

Steve,
We have all booted up our cars, thats part of the reason we buy them but what i dont do is try and bait other road users into a race
Also he had a Toddler in the back with the window down so had something happened i dread to think what the outcome would have been.

Personally i dont give a $hit if he kills himself but trying to lure me and my familly into his games is not on

You are not alone bruv, it fucking winds me up when people do this to me too, yes I give the car some boot but as stated above theres a time and a place definately not when you have children in the car and a bike rack on the back, thats just plain fucking stupid,

I guess its the reputation of these cars we love, people see them and act like pratts no matter what they are driving

my mate has a white 4x4 one with escort cossie wheels, but thats the only white one i know round here i think,

i hate cocks like that with kids in the car, dont realy mind if it was 2am & just the 2 of you's. thats the reason trackdays are getting more popular for less stress than doing it on the road,

Chops,

Never really got the reg but i know it was a short private plate starting with "A"

After he started throwing bikes at me i took evasive action and got the hell out of there

Smits,

It had wheels more like a TSW Hockenheim R style.

Deffo not Esc Cos ones.
