All short haul BA flights have been cancelled going to and from Heathrow.

Im going to London tonight expecting mega delays

we'll have to wait and see what the cause was, but the pilot did very well to keep it in one piece (more or less) and come dowm within reach of the emergency services and not outside the perimeter fence

i have just got back from Heathrow,i was sitting with my back to the window where the plane landed(crashed) !!! surprisingly enough my flight was cancelled ,causing chaos !!!!!!,was NO decent information given out about the situation and most people didn't know what was going on in the terminal.....hopefully everyone was ok,but it sure is putting me off getting back on my re booked flight on monday the first i heard about it was a phone call from my dad

Pity I am not at work, there was a picture of the landing gear that came off on the press association picture feed.

Will have a look in the morning to see if its still on there.

looks like engine faliuresor eletrical faliure but we wot know for a while the piolt is being hailed as a 'hero' so i very much doubt he is to blame!!!!!!!

landing gear failing aint that uncommon i'm affraid, i used to work for BA in the hangers where the engineers would fix the aircrafts even when i was there they had a problem with landing gear then, i think is was an engineers fault aswell

my old man was delayed because of this supposed to get in at 6 last nite and didnt land till early this morning!

yep engines refused to respond for throttle and it was the co-piolt that brought it down safley!!!
