Its probably caused by too many concurrent attempts to access the database at once.
The solution is either a database server than can handle more requests, or less users or more scalable forum software that handles large volumes of requests more efficiently.

No because I dont know of any other forum that is this large, but has NO admins who give a flying fuck about the site.
