my mate shapes them over, cuts them down to just a stump and can also grind the root out aswell just as long as there is enough room to get the machine to the root as its quite a big machine

right mate it depends on how good you are at the end of the day am qualified and went through college and the likes and have my HND for it and all the blue book qualifications too
i worked for a guy doing my apprenticeship bring home around £200 a week after tax and it slowly went up from there till i earned around £300 take home a week for a 5 day week this all was
i got bored of working for the same cunt that undermimes you and just seems to think your still the same wet behind the ears student that came a few years back but i was his top guy doing all the team leader stuff able to set up and operate all the gear and use it all when he went on holidays i was the man with the job list and the keys yet he still didn't want to pay me for all this
so i went self emplyed and just went in and told people what i wanted for a days work and depending on where i earned £100-£150 a day plus fuel suppkied my own climbing tackle and lowering equipment and my own chainsaws he had to kit out there lads on the ground for removal of the arisings and have them qualified to use a saw on the ground etc
i eventually got head hyunted to go and work for a local landscaping firm to be there head of tree department and i earn £350 take home a week now and i don't have to save for the tax man each month and have no stress's or hassle or the coming home and having to do all the paper work etc
i didn't enjoy all the self employed stuff tbh and the work isn't quiet constant enough to warrant it tbh the wage am on now comes out better than the wage of self employed
any questions just ask mate

then you do the rest of the chapters of the book like safe climbing and aerial rescue which is like a week then you have another week of use of a chain saw from a rope and harness
you could be blue book trained in a month i reacon
but you still wouldn't know one tree from another and alot of em are proper useless i know when we did tree identification at college i was the only one on my course to get 30 out of 30 every time and no one else on the course ever managed over 25 :O i dunno if i was just on with some goms or what
doing your NVQ is a year ND is 2 years and HND is 3 years with the middle year spent working somewhere for an actual wage lol 2 of my mates went to new york and canada for there middle year but i stayed here as i had a girlfriend at the time how naive i think to myself now lol
but it all depends on how much you wanna put into it all now and how fit you are and how much abuse your body can take i limit myself to 2 days a week climbing now and try to keep out of the heavy lifting as all the guys 40 plus are just fucked kneees, back,s shoulders, everything really all fucked from the job
i wanna try and work myself up to being the tree officer for the local council tbh as thats where the better money is

another question then now we have someone who knows the answers, if you have a tree and you want it out totaly gone, what about the roots etc?
i'm asking because we've got about a 20 foot tall pine tree (i'm assuming it's pine because it's got them pinecones growin on it ) but the site where it's growing is the boundary wall for the extension
so is this a matter of digging a big hole and getting rid of all the roots or can it be pulled out like a cork?
and how deep a hole does it need to be to get the roots totaly out?
i know you are a long way away but if this were a job you were quoting for, how much would you be looking to charge? if i was local to you not you having to drive 200 miles down the road to come and do the chopping

PassionFord Post Whore!!
We have just had a massive oak tree cut down at the end of the garden, cost us £300 for him to cut it down and he was there a few hours I think.
