Focus RS or DC5 Integra Type R???
Its looking like I have a serious buyer for the BMW so been looking about at what to replace her with. I had my heart set on another DC5 Integra (had one a couple of years back) but Mr PF Dave decided to come over last night in a Focus RS and she looked rather nice!!!!
Has anyone owned both of them before?? Both similar i've heard with respects to all round performance etc etc.... got about 10k/11k to spend!

Integra is what i would choose out of the two, a fantastic handler and very rare over here, as it was never sold by honda in the uk, there all imports, i saw one 3 days ago, first one iv seen that hasnt been on the t.v BTCC

Chris, depends what kind of power you want, we have an FRS with around 270bhp & its a great car
the DC5 is harder/dearer to get big power from but i know a guy who imports them, i've drive a few & there fantastic cars, look the bollocks & as said not many about either!

Both good cars. Very similair specs, just depends if you prefer high reving engines or Turbo'd cars. FRS is cheaper to tune and I don't think the DC5 LSD is suppost to be very good with over 240bhp.
Much prefer the seating possition in the DC5, but the FRS isn't too shabby.

Holding its value?
Ive got a fRS but the dc5 is a nice car, but insurance is a killer compared to the focus.
Had the focus around 6 months now and not 1 thing has went wrong with it, my faith had gone with anything with RS in the name, until this

I see your points but to a certin extent i disagree. I would guess they would probably be on a par maintainance costs wise. Ye insurance is going to be more as its an import.
As for easier to get more horse power out of to high 200 figures ye but after that i would say the k series is better, a mate of mine has an s2000 with 380bhp using a Ł3000 supercharger kit. Whats needed to get a focus to 380bhp? its got to be 3k minimum
I agree with finding a decent 1 also as tbh i just dont trust the whole import thing

would say the FRS has the edge just, with the reasons people mentioned, cheaper insurance, cheaper to mod, will hold its value a little better etc
mate has one with a gt28 on it milltek mani and a few other mods

my mate has a dc5 and its tuned to about 240bhp, 220bhp or so as standard import- he tracks it and uses it everyday and it doesn't miss a beat, from wot hes said its awesome round the twisties aswell
he said he tryed to get it out of shape on track and he really did struggle!
love the frs though so i'd probably still get that
