Default Buying a car and getting it home.

Ok, So i'm toying with the idea of buying a 2nd hand car.
what will i have to do to get it home? the car is MOT and taxed. and i have fully comprehensive insurance on a different car.
is the only way to get it home by driving it to get it insured seperately?
i don't have the use of a trailer

any help will be greatly appreciated.
Jay.

just use

www.tempcover.com

Cost you about £20 a day for most cars- or less.

But they dont insure group 18 upwards.

If youve got fully comp on another car then surely your insured to drive any other car third party, the person you bought it off still needs to have valid insurance in place though. Not sure if this is 100% but it should be as he'll still be the registered owner. Other than that fone ur insurance company and add the car to ur policy for the day

That would be right so long as the guy's own insurance says he's entitled to drive over cars. Being fully comp alone doesn't guarantee this.

Check your policy pal.

Is that just an age thing or do some full comp policies just not cover anyone to drive any other car?

Seems a lot you have to be 25 or over now.
Also technically driving it homw you wouldn't be insured, as it's not someone elses car anymore.
Easy way round that though of course.

I did say technically.
You will be new owner, it will be your car, which you have no insurance on.

Just phone your insurance company and say you want another car put on temporarily.
They'll all do it, and give you the option of anything between a week and a month usually.
£10-£30 should do it.
