Will be at a few, as to which, I don't know yet to be honest. Usually be found at either Oulton or Donno, prefer Oulton Park though

Always loved the Mi's.

I did have one ( But is called a GTI-16, with other manifold etc) in my Pug 309.

Correct. My engine also died because of the crank bearings.

I sold the engine and mounted a 2.0 L Turbo

Mi16's are shit hot engines too start with, so when you start playing with them, there gonna perform well speically in something like a 205!

My mate has a 205 Rallye with a 1.9 Lump in on carbs, goes well around a track, his brother has a 306 rallye with 200bhp NA on TB's, another track beast that will kill alot of cars on track

another one of my mates has a 1.9 405 Mi16 which has been rebuilt to a standard spec, pushing out 170bhp on the rollers, even that shifts for such a big car!

Dam, i want a 205!

does show how much Weight plays a part in a track car i spose.

160 bhp and 120 lb ft
against possibly 300 bhp in that cos?

lot more to it than that really though, speed carried thru corners i'd say.

im yet to see what my car with Mi 16 power goes like on track, but
went ok as a 1900 8v.(for what it is) lol..

but i Dont expect much as i aint much of a driver!

Good fun though aint it

the guy who owns that 205 comes on here, he has a bit of video from i think 2004 of my old car just coming up the inside of him on the start/finish at croft, shortly after my crappy plastic oil filler cap expired and spat oil all over his windscreen in the afternoon was funny though.

GO MI GO

Jake
Tiff, Shings,

i dont doubt they were both great, and never blew up

but i see post after post of them dieing, and only 1 gti-6 so far and that was a weird issue

i would have gone MI if there was a cheap fix for the oil problem, as there is no, i went the GTI6

and it has held it's against MI so far on track, so well happy

OK, I watched that and got straight on the net looking for a 205 Mi16 for sale, got someone with a miami blue one that is interested in a deal with my 1997 escort GTI. Am I doing my usual act now think later thing or shall I carry on with it??
I was going to start to look at a few things to do track days with and use as an every day driver. trip to work is all country roads 9miles there and back thats as far as I use my car for??

I read tghat the reason they get oil starvation is because the engine has to be tilted at a further backward angle to get the exhaust manifold in? is this right.
Oppinions please

I'm fairly sure it is

I was at that day and was impressed with the 205. It was a good match for my 4x4 sapphire (stage 1 at the time).

I really like them - great cars!
