only thing ive ever bought from clarke are a set of wobble bars but have hardly used them, for quality and value i think draper EXPERT, cowboi has some kasama spanners which have taken a right fair share of abuse ans survived

1 bad tool,,,, made by the same people who also make the draper expert tool ( look and the packaging of the ratchet spanners,,notice they are the same)

halfords pro is a fucking ripp off these days unless you buy there wanky took kit where half the tools are imperial,, pointless

all mine are seperate, never had a issue apart from them going missing at kam's garage when i left it there

You can't base your experience on one part ... I have used Halfords pro stuff for years, have only managed to break stuff by abusing fuck out of it, and anything I have broken I have had replaced under the lifetime warranty policy. Even Snap On won't warranty torx bits etc as they are so prone to breaking. And remember the Halfords pro stuff is a bargin, you can build a comprehensive tool kit for the price of a Snap On socket set.... ( Snap On IMHO is vastly over-rated, and people just pay for the name...) . And Teng make the Halfords stuff so they know what they are doing

I purchased the Draper Elora socket set back in 1997 (149.99) and to this date I still have it, use it near enough everyday and none of the sockets etc are broken. They are top quality. If going for a socket set I would go with Draper.

I have some Halfords PRO stuff, found it ace myself, very good quality and ace value.
The last tool I broke was a SNAP ON torque wrench, these are NOT gauranteed, so paid Ł52 to have it repaired, broke same thing two days later, and was around 1/3 of it's torque rating, oh well at least I won't have to pay for repair, WRONG, expected to pay again.
I said FFS I can buy a TORQUE WRENCH with a lifetime warranty for 1/2 that amount this one cost to fix, snap on man says "but what if it breaks", lifetime warranty.
I now have four teng torque wrenches to cover my ranges, one did indeed throw a wobbly, went wildly inaccurate, 6 months old, they could not replace it fast enough, took one out of a set as they did not have it in stock, and delivered to me the same morning, from stockist.
Snap on took 5 weeks to repair my TR!!
I think along the lines of the warranty being worth more than the tool itself.
The snap on man is no longer a snap on man and sells all makes, but NOT snap on!!

Halfords are looking like a good buy so far, im needing mainly wrenches sockets spanners basically all items, my dad has all his tools so its not as if i need to buy all in one go. the packs you get from halfords look good but im only gonna take them out to put into my chest.

Ive been looking through a machine mart catalouge and there pro stuff seems a good price sold indavidualy anyone have any veiws on there products they also havwe a lifetime warrenty

i've got teh halfrods box o tools as well

no complaints in the past few years since i've had the box

i've been collecting tools since i was 15 so that's nearly 20 years worth i've got sat about the place
my advice is buy tools when you can rather than when you need them if you are going to do a lot of spannering, i've got several sets of the same size sockets and several ratchets and loads of other bits and bobs but i've got 3 sets of halfords spanners for starters plus so many sockets i can't even remember where i got most of them

there are certain tools you need to have, and certain tools that you should have and certain tools that you can get away with not having, but amongst the tools you do need the halfords box set tends to have the majority of the undoing and tightening up stuff

you shoudl also look into getting a slide hammer and a puller and basic mechanical stuff like that before you start looking to getting the more specialist stuff such as bearing presses and the like
