So let me get this right, it's an ex Carlos Sainz WRC Cosworth with the best of everything suspension and shell wise (but I understand Stian retained the gearbox), has a "920bhp" engine and on the STRAIGHT at Gatebil it gets overtaken by a 600bhp car . Anything I've missed?

So now 920bhp isn't even fast in a straight line any more?

the biggest problem I see is these big hp engines are rarely run at there full power so no one knows how fast they are,
I always recomend running a sticker for the day saying how much hp its running on that day should sort that problem
Myself I aways run full power always .

Which is why your cars have my respect (even if some of the owners are a little OTT ) .

I suspect if they experienced a real 900bhp (Rod's car), they would stop claiming the figures that they do .

Not bad getting 850bhp to do a 9.3 pass at 165mph, Must have good traction.

THANK YOU! Big turbos need high rpms, thats the difference... a 600bhp engine with a smaller turbo is faster at low rpms... He dont drive the car on full-power either..

I don't think that's what 'remko' meant at all!!

Also you mention that big turbo's need big rpms... Don't you get that if you run short gearing?

so he has a car that is laggy cause it has a big turbo, has a high boost threshold cause it has a big turbo, and then isnt powerful when he drives it cause he doesnt run it at full power.

Well why doesnt he fit a turbo for the power he DOES drive with, and then it would be more responsive?

Although wouldnt be as impressive down the pub
