Thats exactly what I heard it was for too

Awesome engine but I'm quite sure someone admitted it wouldn't last much more than a 1/4 mile at a time

Ah I see, makes perfect sense if its just for the dyno and not to go into a car!

I think Martin's is the highest UK spec engine that can last all day on the track and isn't a drag monster (which due to the high compression etc, are designed to run flat out for no longer than 10s at a time).

I would also advise that I don't belive ANY of the Norwegian power figures, as Martin's car CREAMED the top spec cars at Gatebil down the MAIN STRAIGHT, whilst not even running full boost .

However, I expect Rod's will more than likely exceed that when finished - time will tell .

Apparently so but surely Jenspeed aren't going to bullshit that much ?

I do agree though that most things out there appear to have 800 + hp which is hardly heard of over here

Drag car's don't count, they are set up so close to the edge that they can only run flat out for 10s at a time - any more than that and they will grenade themselves. This allows you to get away with things you could NEVER do on a road / track car.

Yes, but Fredde's Escort did a 10.04 second quarter, with fully interior, synchronized MT75 (with Fixit gears) and 18" rims with streettires. Surely that can't be too far of the claimed 750 BHP can it?

Kev Sharp did 10.3 I think with about 600hp & fully trimmed as far as I know ? ? ?

Kev can confirm that, so would guess Fredde's Escort was runnin bout 660hp maybe a touch more ? ? ?

JB, Kev used a 7 speed FFD Dogbox. Fredde uses a shonky 5 speed Syncro FIXIT.

HUGE difference mate.

The topic doesnt say "non drag cars" so IT doesnt differntiate, so I dont see why you are doing?

If the topic was about "reliable road cars" then fair enough, but it doesnt appear to be written in that context to me.

You mean because someone said so?

In that case, mine has 7,564.2 bhp @ 17,000rpm on low boost with race fuel made from angel piss .

I'm not saying ANYTHING other than: Speak to Pat about his engine and the power it made, compared to the power was claimed it should make . Suffice to say, it's now tuned elsewhere (as are a LOT of the Rally-x engines) and with a lower figure is producing better times than ever .

I heard it was now being looked after by an Ex-Mountune employee, but that's probably as reliable as your 700bhp figures .
