Thats insanity imo, my younger bro is only paying £1100, his fiesta is a 1.25 zetec, he's only past his test a few month ago and is 18, surely a 26 year old in a 1.6 should be cheaper than that regardless of ban and no claims. one of my mates had 2 bans, and insured his cossie for about £1500.

i tried a quote on my p100 that i said was worth £200 they wanted £3800

Just phoned him, he cant remember , sold the car over a year ago, and he said it was closer to £1700 not £1500, and it was limited mileage, upto 6k a year, but he had a 18 month drug driving ban, and a 12 month drink driving ban, so all in all, it still wasnt to bad.

Jacko the best thing you can do mate is bite the bullet and pay the insane stupid quotes, sometimes though.... the cheaper the car the higher insurance quote because they think you dont give a fcuk about the car if you crash it ect because its worth fcuk all mate! so maybe try and get a qoute on some thing sensible like a 2ltr or higher worth around 3-4grand and see what they say mate.

 

why not get quotes from comparison websites like, go compare & all that lot?

i went to get insurance not long ago for a cavalier gsi & got quoted £750

& now im nearly 850 for a mk3 xr3
