right after having my cage installed and car painted


now i want to lose the whole sunroof and put a non custom roof on but the cage would need modding as there would be a big gap between new roof skin and old cage

could you cut and add a section to the cage (must still be fia legal as i plan to race the car) then reweld job done

Hello mate,

Why not just live with the cage as is. It will have no affect on safety.

I plan to loose the roof on mine in the future.

I wont be replacing it with ford metal though!

make the car 2" lower, cut the roof off and shorten the A/B/C pillars and windows, then weld a shortened roof on, be very different and would save the need to redo the cage, and also lower the centre of gravity.

 

Don't mod a cage - live with it being wrong forever
