Default Best little "supermini" for approx £3k for wife?

I've just sold my Focus RS and need to get my wife a little supermini for her for work so I can use the Laguna she has as it's a diesel drinking bus

Been looking and i can get anything like VW polo (02 plate), Renault Clio (03 plate), Ford Fiesta (03 plate) or a Fiat Punto (04 plate) all are small engined 1.2's or similar.

Whats the best one do ya's reckon? My mind is saying polo but it's basic with tapedeck etc

My wallet is saying Punto or Fiesta cause they are specced up well and cheaper to run and fix.

what ya's reckon then?

Zetec Fiesta Scott - nice to drive, easy to repair and if you buy right are fully loaded. So nice to drive mate, had one for 4 years myself. £3k will get you a real nice one too.

i got a 2000 Polo as my daily driver, its a bit basic but never let me down, nice to drive and a good on fuel, but its only a 1.0

the fiesta would be my other choice if i were you, especially if you could stretch to a zetec tdci model, theyre fantastic on juice and pretty good to drive and have a few more toys than the equivalently priced Polo.
