Default Property Question!

Right folks. I've been to look at a new house tonight and it has got most things i need it to have.Good location, Huge rooms etc, But, imo the house is slightly to big for the awkward size off the plot. The house has a big detached garage up the side of the house which takes up the majority of the garden which our car will never be in. What will happen to the value of the property if i was to demolish the garage and turf the area (approx 50 square metres) and turn it into a proper family home with a proper garden for my kids?

Whats your opinions: garage? or garden?

You are asking on a car forum if you should knock down a big garage?

Depends how long you intend on staying. Say 10 years? Knock it down, enjoy YOUR home how YOU want to enjoy it and dont worry about what happens when you sell it!!!!. In 10 years if you decide to sell, then build a garage. Garages do add value to property but more desireablilty value than actual cash value in most cases.

Garage, every time.

Quite apart from anything else, if you knock it down and lay grass, you'll have nowhere to keep the mower!

Keep the garage, you can always find a park for the kids! No, honestly, they do add value and the storage you will have in it is always an added bonus.

Keep the garage, if you dont want to store a car of your own in there....

1- Rent it to me nice easy Ł100 a month..

2- Turn it into
a - pool house
b- conservatory
c- deck it out with sofa, lcd, sound system
nice little den for the boys and the ps3/xbox.

Dont knock it down, at least shrink it 1st if its to big.

I have no use for a garage, Have one at our current home and theres fook all in it! Could always just have a shed in corner to keep kids toys in. Dont have a mower! I'v got a gardener

+ I would just collect crap if i had a garage. Fook knows. All see if i can afford it first! (real tears)

When it comes to buying houses as petrol heads "we" all want a garage.

When it comes to buying houses as normal human beings "they" look at garages as extra storage space.

Always wanted a garage, worked on cars in parents drive for years and years, grew up and now i have no interest for another project to put in it,and serious lack of funds aswell. the beemer wouldnt go in garage as the missus would rip the side out of it trying to get it in or out.decisions decisions!!!
