Default Exhaust wrap

Fook me what is that stuff made from? Just covered my down pipe with it and im itching like mad! Also it looks like i have been covered in gliter

Is it Asbestos of sort?

I think it contains something like fiberglass, I know the feeling though! Did a pinto manifold a little while ago

Doh, going to be fun when i start my engine up, as it just been rebuilt any smell or smoke that shouldnt be there i will be shiting a brick

I had the same thing

Freshly rebuilt engine with smoke pouring out the vents when you stop @ lights

Your head tells you its just the heatwrap but you wanna go check

too late dont go for a piss ..
yes u will cry fiberglass shards very thin sharp but easy to
get out. coss they have no barbs on them
..was the wrap silver coated.
on one side
if so fiberglass you will wake up in the morning

I have done mine a few times, and yes you itch like fook !! .
Last time i did the cossie i wrapped the manifold & downpipe, i had to
fookin pull over and get out the car cos it was smoking soo much !

......lol...........

I basically did mine cos it keeps the engine bay temps down and apparently if you
have a hotter exhaust the gases flow more efficiently, and of course its looks pukka
rally stlyeeeeee..

I prefer the ceramic coatings nowadays. Much less hassle to put on and a fraction of the price too.
