yeah it could be bore wash, worn piston ring etc. etc.

When you take the oil filler cap off when it's running, does the engine idle speed drastically change or even cut out?

Take the breather pipe off the back of the rocker, if it's puffing out smoke it may be worth doing a compression test just in case....

There's always going to be some heavy breathing [like a phone call from me after a 2nd date ] on an old cvh but shouldn't be too much...

its on efi so it will not cut out only on mfi

just sounds like you need to clean your pipes out and breather tank and change the hoses and you should be fine

Ok mate, thanks.

2 Of the lines are sfs floroline (sp) 2 others are old pipes. I'll take them all off, clean them out and fit some new sfs hoses tommorrow.

If that dosen't sort it, ill be back

Have you just fitted it mate? How was your breather set up before?

It could be as Guzzler says condensation, if you had it piped up as per the standard ford setup, then it could have always been like that and you would never have noticed.

How much smoke are we talking, and does it do it all the time or just for the first few mins?

It vents to atmosphere as far as im aware.

It might be condensation as the car has sat for a few months now.

I had it idling for about 15 mins and it was smoking the whole time!
