Default possible rs500 for sale

im a bit pissed off at the mo so im just gauging any interest.

black e reg rs500.yesterday it began giving me some problems coming back from lightwater show.it has low oil pressure on tickover and i have found a lot of play in the turbo that was not there yesterday morning.the engine still sounds sweet and has decent oil pressure everywhere but tickover.the engine that is in the car at the moment is a 200 block one- i have the rs500 engine at the garage in 2 pieces as i was going to put a group a head gasket on it.

any way i would consider selling the car in any condition-ie
as it is with both the 200 block engine and the rs500 engine and all the goodies on it(which i will list shortly),or with just the rs500 engine,or just the 200 blockj engine,or without all the goodies i have fitted.i think you see what i mean......

any way here goes;
the engine-200 block,long studded,wrc head gasket,knife edged crank,low comp.bronze guides,bd14 cams,ported head,double valve springs,verniers.
4 paddle clutch
4x 83lb siemens injectors,closed loop management,l8,air injectors,
rs500 manifold etc.
t4(needs rebuild!!!!),new mongoose exhaust lamda sensor.
3 bar map sensor, black roose hoses-boost and coolant,rs500 cooler, new rad, bailey mirror breather kit, bailey header tank, bailey swirl pot, group a coil, motorsport leads, alloy strut brace, was running 28psi boost and was due to be live mapped by msd in august
secs monitor
new fuel tank,o44 pump and filter

standard gearbox and diff.

new gaz coilovers, adjustable track control arms, polybushes.
hi-spec 300mm front brake kit.

bbs 16" x-spoke alloys with good tyres

all usual rs500 bits-good dash,etc cat 1 alarm,long tax and test,5 owners,not much history.
the car is cat d listed in 2001.has had 2 wings at some point, but the shell is nice and the car looks great.it has been re-shelled at some point,as the new shell has no number in,but i have the old piece of floor from the old shell-stamped upwards-it didnt bother me as at the end of the day it is an rs500!.i have put a lot of time and effort into making this car how i wanted it but im just feeling a bit pissed off now as its a lot of car/money.at the end of the day it is an rs500(build no 309),has the rs500 engine with it.
im gutted this has happened, plus i dont really have the cash around to throw at it at the mo,with one thing and another which is why im even considering selling it as i know i will probably never get another.

i may consider a deal with another rs.dont really want to break it but if its financially worth doing i may consider it.today is just a bad day,but i will sell the car if i get offered the right deal, with either the standard bits (engine, suspension, brakes etc),or with all the goodies i have fitted,or with everything.

any offers/deals pm me.i know its never going to be the most expensive rs500 due to it being cat d,but i think you have to take these cars on their merits nowadays.and how they are now...i know what i paid for it as a standard car and i know what i have spent on it.and i know what i would have wanted for it had i ever sold it as it was before the turbo problem.

im sure many of us go through this feeling with cossies, but im now thinking i could have a just as quick sapphire that wouldnt be so much money tied up!maybe tomorrow i will feel ok and just get the rs500 sorted, maybe not though.....

im off to go and remove the turbo from the car

would investigate the low oil press on tick over first mate as it could be something small...

if the engine was gubbed it would be low everywhere...

turbos come and go and aint worth selling your car over

i know,i know and if its just a turbo rebuild and a new oil pump its not the end of the world.

but its an rs500 which makes it an expensive car all the time and im finding myself going mad if the kids mess it up inside or paranoid about leaving it anywhere,or crashing it and it takes the fun out of cosworth ownership a bit-although knowing you own one of about 220 left rs500's always puts a smile on my face-cant win!
maybe i should get myself a really good spec sapphire- rwd of course!which would still be as much fun to drive, but they dont look as good

aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

maybe i should buy an m5............

i couldnt pete,i had an evo 4 for about 12 hrs and didnt like it.

i just love the rwd cossie stuff, but the wierd pressure of owning an rs500 is doing my head in a bit.i go to the shows and i take the mrs and the little girl, she is 20 months old so its going to get messed up inside-but im always like" dont touch that"dont get that drink/food on the seats",etc etc.

no point buying a sapph to go to the shows in and keep the rs500,as it defeats the object.
wish i had kept my moonstone 3 door last year!!!!but i was a bit paranoid about that, but im not the type to put a car away and not use it-i like them because i can drive them!!

oh i dont know

Put some other doorcards/seats/carpet in there if you are worried they will get damaged. As long as the little one doesnt pick up a hammer there is no serious damage she can inflict, sticky paws and ice cream can be cleaned up.

They are fantistic to drive, maybe not as much fun as rwd on a roundabout, but you have fun in different ways with it.

Very few cars will keep with 1 round the twisties.

They really do handle great, but the ride is quite harsh, takes a little getting used to.

as for price, I've just put mine up for £11,500 because it gets used 1 day a week if im lucky.

Price wise on average a shitter will be about 9 - 10k and a minter 13k ish.

Mine isn't a minter but it is very clean

decisions/decisions????

to be honest i think the rs500,even as it is worth more than £11500,especially with all the bits on it.i always thought that if i was ever going to sell it,especially after it had been live mapped and will be around 500 bhp,i would need at least 14k to sell it-the turbo needs a rebuild, plus there is a spare good rs500 engine with it,so it has got be worth 13k as it is,surely or thereabouts

i may consider selling the car-but at the mo the t4 has got to go back to the repairer as it needs some attention.may be buying another t4 tomorrow to replace it.

are you interested in the car with all the uprated bits on it or with standard engine?

nice car mate but i couldnt live with myself if i swapped my rs500 for an m3 to be honest.

the turbo is going away again today to be properly repaired as it let go on its first run after being rebuilt.so as it stands the car is without turbo until it comes back.
