escos or mk5/6 pic request! also, identify this wire?

Default escos or mk5/6 pic request! also, identify this wire?
first things first, can anyone tell me what this wire does in this pic? its red with some black tape and yellow connectors, plugs into the fusebox one end and (?) at the other. its also fairly thick.



next, does anyone have a picture of the loom behind the dash of a mk5 escort or an escos? as i'm unsure of where everything is supposed to be routed.

Doesn't it just sit inside the fuse box doing nothing? I'm sure I have noticed that before....
