how long does it take to learn how to fly one?

just got a cheap one of ebay, the alpine rescue 4 channel. got it to get the hang of flying before I go for a more expensive model and bloody hell crashed it loads already!

at one point, concentrating really hard and girlfriend spoke to me and made lose concentration and hit the throttle and hit the roof and came crashing down!

can just about hover around the living for about a min now lol

any tips??

cheers

there is a plug on the back of the transmitter which looks like an s-video input, is this for the computer or is this something totally different?

depends what transmitter.

I think they are normally for a 'trainer' cable to be connected so they can take over before you crash!!!!

That looks really neat.

Is it a real bastard to fly unlike the advert shows?

All the flight sims i have tried with my controller all end in disaster. I can go sort of forwards very quickly under some sort of control - but everything else is a feat of mamouth brain power that i cannot muster!!!!

i remember when i was a kid seeing a bloke flying one in the park, he had fastened a childs toy hoop onto the bottom of it to aid landing, not sure if it would actually help in theory.
