it wasn't the smoking in the car it was static that ignites the fuel its where she keeps playing with her jumper apparently!!!!
we have this and others as safety tapes at works titled 'the dangers of static electricity'

This was shown to be static, she got back in the car and never touched the vehicle when she got out to discharge.
Saw a load of this on TV last week, they were trying to see if mobile phones caused problems and they put it down to static instead.
Bet she crapped herself though!
