Avid BB cable discs have been around years, and they are seriously powerful, even more so than some hydraulic systems. The likes of Shimano, quad etc, DO NOT WORK. The leverage isnt right on the calipers themselves.
Single pot hydraulic brakes also dont work, as you cant physically put enough fluid into a single piston, and expect it to squeeze a disc and slow you down. (bit like RST brakes!)
believe who you want bud, but im going from experience in my everyday job....
MB's are something i know nothing about and am just trying to gather info from all sides.
So what sort of deal to send me a pro disc bike to aberdeen? Is sending it expensive?
You lightweight, catch a train down and ride it back....

PMSL! That would be one serious break-in ride!
I will get you a price and PM you a bit later.
i know you werent questioning me, and i dont mind if you were, im not like that. i dont know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING, just telling you what i know works, and what doesnt bud.

In a dream perhaps, then you would go for a ride, snap the chain lunge forward the forks will snap and then....... and only then..........you will wake up from the screams of pain.

its got toras on it, they wont snap, i think its equipped with sram sx-5 rear mech and truvativ fiveD cranks, they should stand up to cross country abuses with no real problems. Its not like its an apollo. In recent reviews the carrera range has come out well against other brands.

Anyone that works in a bike shop.....
How long does it generally take to apply for the 'Ride 2 Work' scheme? I sent off for the application form for my business about 9 days ago. Have had nothing from them (Ride 2 Work) yet. After this I suppose I will have to complete and return this paperwork and wait for them to send me a voucher to buy a bike.
but I need a new bike now lol

Hes a decent enough bloke though and we all get on well with him and have a good laugh , which is surprising as you wouldnt think a 50+ self made man would want to hang around with the likes of me and my loud mouthed mates lol.
Whats he like as a boss. I know he is a self confessed tight bastard, but thats how he has so much money so fair play to him.

Don't ask - I don't know

Have to say I've had loads of bikes, and the only ones I rate are Kona. I've got two, and both are bullet proof and have never let me down. My roadbike has slicks and is set for the road with my off roader having hydraulic 4 pots front and rear and is bombproof.
Expensive, but worth it for the total lack of aggro I get from both.
