Im looking at going back ther ein March,as got a frined traveling,and she`l be there then... I miss the place LOADS!!!!!
Flights not too bad to behonest... You have as many mealds as you want,free drinks,loads of films,tv,games etc etc,its the the excitment of knowin that your goin there that kills you..but you will LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!

I cant wait to go their, will be ending up their about next xmas after after travelling8 months before hand

Ive done both. Ive done the straight through once and the singapore stopover twice. When i go again ill probably go straight through TBH. I LOVE singapore its a nice place and theres something about it that i like....but its a lot of pissing about. We did 3 nights last time so got to see a bit like, but first time we did stopover we only had one night for a kip basically and it wasnt worth it.
Enjoy yourself though, its an AWESOME place. Dont forget the pics

OFF TO PERTH AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT BIG TIME. I WENT TO JAMAICA LAST YEAR AND THE 10HR FLIGHT THERE WAS A NIGHTMARE BUT THIS ONE I THINK IS GOING TO DO ME RIGHT IN.

As above, its a killer flight, mine was 22 hours there, 24 hours back 
But also as stated, sooooooo worth it. I road tripped round Oz last year with a few mates, it was so so so good. Ill defo go back some time, got an USA road trip planned next year

Get the Metro into Singapore Orchard Rd its only a quid, hit the shops big style, in fact actually i bought a watch in the city and it was Ł100 cheaper in airport so check the shops in the airport mate, its like Meadowhall. As for Australia where you going, its ace no matter where your off.

Perth is such a brilliant city, so clean compared to here. Go see the Pinnacles at sunset Will try and scan some photos in later.And the bonus of WA is you can travel around and there's far fewer pommie exports like Popeye to ruin the "Australianess" of it

ROFL! at anyone who doesnt want to make the trip because the flight is too long! Yeah its a long way but when I am on my death bed, I don't want to be thinking that I didnt go somewhere because it took too long to get there
Have done the trip 6 times one way and 7 the other and yes it is more annoying than anything. As Warley says, as much food, drink, console games, movies, music as you can ever deal with.
Singapore is ace, have been there several times as well as in transit but isnt everyone's cup of tea.
That is what I like about Melbourne, the lack of Poms until the cricket/F1 rolls into town! Unlike Sydney, NYE 5 years ago, there were more at the harbour than Aussies!
Oz is great where ever you go and the first trip is more about the excitement than anything else so the flight will fly by (no pun intended!).
Superb place and happy to offer suggestions of places to see around Victoria
