RS500's in Austrailia
Where they sold at all over there? Wondering since the RS500's were all conquering for many years there (almost half a decade!). Surely the ATCC spread the Cosworth badge in Austrailia.
Someone?

Nope, none sold here to my knowledge. I know of a couple here and several 3 doors and a few saffs (including my old one).
They are recognised as a formidabble machine though.

No readily available but certainly a fair few kicking around the ads now. There is an active RS Owners club here in Victoria. There are a few oz cossie owners on here.

I had a chat with Pet and we agreed to point my domain name to this passionford server. I think there was talk of a Oz room if there was enough interest.

There isnt a great deal in the way of shows although the two big ones here in Victoria have just been. They are both in February normally. We have our monthly meeting and track days as well a cruise every so often.
The majority of cars are MK1 and MK2 escorts as they were sold here.

Interesting....
I was under the impression that there were limited numbers sold there, which then influenced RS500's to race over there, obviously not.
Next question, who introduced them then? Im guessing Andy Rouse and the Eggenberger teams had a massive impact at Bathhurst in the early years of the RS500, however i wonder what prompted Dickie Johnson to race them.
My point being, you didn't see many Holdens (for example) racing in the BTCC, whereas the RS500's did in the ATCC.

3doors and Esc Cos' command big money. Some like to charge big bucks for them and some people will pay that. 3 doors are realistically around the 25K mark maybe up to 30K. I have seen a couple of saffs for the high end of 30K but doubt they would have fetched that.
Saff's are supposed to get around the 20K mark ish but mine got massively less due to it not being complied.
MK1's I dont know so much about the pricing but try carsales.com.au and carpoint.com.au
I know the Eggenberger teams did have a big impact and I would have thought Andy Rouse did as well but cannot confirm definately. I can ask a friend who is in the know about the cossie history though.
