it was an option, get your local ford dealer to put your reg/chassis number into microcat & the minor features should say if it has abs.

If it has back discs it will have ABS.

ABS became standard in 2001....a Zetec model will _probably_ but not definitely have it. Look for the sensors!!

I had a 2002 52 reg focus 1.8 tdci zetec and it had rear drums and NO abs. So defo not standard.

My 2000 W reg Zetec didn't have ABS.
If it's one you are looking at go to a dealer with the reg no,
You can't see the rings on the fronts (part of the bearing) but you can see the sensors.

As sais above i think the easiest way is to turn on the ignition and see if theres a light come on for about 3-5 seconds, mine is an orange light on the Escort and it goes off in about 3seconds

My W reg 1.8 zetec had it, but I had it added as an extra.

My mam has a 51 reg 1.6 lx focus,that has abs. My friend over the road from where i live have a zetec focus which i serviced for him a few weeks ago and that didnt have it. I put 2 tyres n a front brake pipe on a X reg zetec focus yesterday and that abs.

There is No ABS on my W reg 2000 1.4 Focus, which surprised me when I 1st got it.
