Whats the differance in................
HD DVD,and Blue Ray???
I can see loads of HD DVD titles that i want,can i play these on my PS3???

Also on DVD players it says HD upscaling so will this only upscale the proper HD DVD's or is it a gay feature applied to all DVD's but is actualy pretty wank. Is it still only SOny on blue ray?
I want to buy a dvd player with hard drive and freeview built in but don't know which one to go for. Also none of them seem to have 5.1 sound outputs which I would have thought they would as standard

Your average HD film is 15/30GB, whilst Blu-Ray is 25/50GB (single/dual layer). Blue-Ray has better video transfer speeds, and is generally superior (much like Betamax was compared to VHS....)
It still isn't clear which will 'win' the war, but it's telling that Microsoft haven't bundled into the same box Hi-Def video....... (keeping their options open).

I think ultimately, the major film studios will be the deciding factor.

my moneys on HD DVD winning, sony wont allow porn on Blu-ray, the same as betamax... even though it is superio most people wont notice the difference too much... so it all comes down to porn

Actually, I'd forgotten about the Porn industry! It's definitely been responsible for a lot of major developments on DVD and the internet, but VHS/Betamax were ground breaking developments in their time (movies at home) - whereas now were 'just' talking about enhanced home viewing.
I'm sure it'll play a part, but not as significantly as in the old VHS/Betamax days (which is debatable any how).
Sony haven't banned porn on Blu-Ray, just said that they won't produce porn disks - something they have never done - that doesn't stop other companies doing so.
Once players are widely available and come down in price, it could even come down to consumers thinking "I've got a HD TV, so I'll buy a HD-DVD player..... "
Also there's a lot of pressure/shennanigans in the mainstream movie world - apparently Michael Bay said he wasn't going to produce Transformers 2 becasue the film co' wouldn't release the first one on Blu-Ray, but apparently he's done a U turn on that...
