Rite a mate of mine has bought a rotter of a RST which he has begun to restore!
The engine is now fine after some help from me and some advise from Rick about the metering head (cheers
)
The car however seems to be a mish mash of parts!
It has an H plate but has
an 88spec front bumper
a 90 spec interior
and an EARLY S2 engine (ie the one without knock sensor input.
The problem is the loom which has been used HAS got the knock sensor input! (but doesnt have a knock sensor plugged in)
He has the hearts and diamonds ECU
What im trying to figure out is wether the ECU he has.. has got a Knock sensor input or not?
Any help appreciated
CheeRS
Phil
Ps if anyone knows the colour codes from other years of RST and knows if they have knock infut or not it would be much appreciated!

With that ecu you will need a knock sensor, with out it will retard the ING timing on boost as it seas a missing sensor as a big problem,
have had fun and games my self,
ecu, that will run with out the sensor are red, blue, Wight (s1 ecu) and red, blue, red (early s2)
Cheers

GREAT help there mate Cheers! I think i might have an Early S2 chipped ECU knocking about,
i thought the ECU he has need knock input as it seems to hold back when boosting and smells like its horifically overfueling!
