been waiting for a date for ages to have what i hope is a minor operation to remove one of my "man bits"(1 b$ll*ck) due to a large lump appearing over the last year which has had me worried sick,even though i have been assured its a cyst(spelling) and nothing more sinister.

never needed to be in hospital before(im 37 now!),and to say im a little nervous is an understatement.the last time i was sedated was when i was 9 to have a tooth out and i punched the dentist in a fury of panic!

my mrs had pretty major surgery a few months back and took it all in her stride.men are fuckin hopeless

im sure it will all be over quickly and ill wonder what i was worried about.

Man good luck. I have a fleshy bit on one of mine. I went to the docs and they booked me in for an ultrasound to check it out at the hospital.

I missed the appointment by accident and never got round to sorting it but that was about 6 + years ago now and I figure I'd be dead or in serious pain by now if it had been bad.

Still, I know what a fucking clown I am for leaving it but that's me all over. Need to pull my fucking socks up, really do.

Anyway, good luck mate I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine.

i would have thought we'd be corssing our legs

it's going to throb like buggery when the pain killers have worn off and make sure you have somewhere nice to sit and relax for a week or so afterwards

plenty of people i know have had their pipes plucked and have said they've been fine walking out of the hospital a few hours later and then got home and collapsed in absolute agony and haven't been able to walk straight for 4 days or so

and if it's scrotum surgury they'll shave you too, so that'll itch like a right prickly twat

not that i'm trying to put you off, i'm just speaking from experience, and i only had a kidney sorted and i was fucked for 5 weeks

oh well not long now.

dogsmoke,get booked in and get the scan-i had one and thats when they confirmed it was a cyst.i was shitting myself until then as i had no idea what it was and was thinking what if it was the big c.much better to find out than to have it over your head....

about the pain i was rather hoping it wouldnt be too bad as they are removing it completely!soon find out

My ex had this done about 18 years ago, he'd been kicked in the nuts a few years previously playing football and ended up with an extra lump.

They shaved them, then sliced the one with the lump on it from top to bottom and removed the lump. His bits were black and purple afterwards, all he could say was "don't.....make.....me.....laugh!"

He left hospital walking like John Wayne, healed fine and you couldn't see it after a while. Although he did have a lot of fun getting them out to demonstrate how it looked like a plucked chicken - can't why I divorced him

hey,they have internet in hospital!

supposed to come in at 7.30 am,was told at 7 not to come till 11am.came in then,no bed till 12.been sat in bed waiting .apparently my op is late afternoon.

not eaten since 10 last night!

hate it here in ward with old men.

i had the snip last year, that was bad enough for me, going near my nads with a knife is fooking nervracking i tell yer. and they just numb the area to, so you can watch if you so wish

The net in hospital is crap I paid £3.50 for tv and use of the net for a day! Came on pf and it crashed the whole thing on a sat night - and there was no engineers till Monday

well,

shortly after my post in hospital the surgeon came to see me.i hadnt seen him until then as when i went for a consultation about a year ago i saw another doctor.

after a brief examination and the use of a torch to see wether he could see through the lump he told me that it was 100% a cyst and asked me if i was certain i wanted it removing as it hadnt grown over the 12 month period and wasnt a threat to my health,but it was up to me if i wanted it removed.it doesnt hurt me and doesnt get in the way,so to speak.

he said it probably wont grow anymore and may even go down in time,so as i didnt fancy lying in a ward for another 2/3 hours then staying in for at least 24 hrs(i was supposed to be a day patient!),so i decided to go home.

feel a bit silly now after all the build up,but i was under the impression all along that removing it was best-up until speaking to the man doing the job.he put my mind at rest that it wasnt a threat and was 100%harmless.

so i still have both my nads and a small lump

wish he had said it before they took my blood-talk about cold sweat!

and im 3.50 short now after paying for 24 hrs tv and internet!

tell me about it.
last night i was all fired up for it,got up this morning at 6am,showered and ready to go.downhill from thereon in-supposed to be in at 7.30 but ring first to confirm"sorry no bed till 11am",then im all wound up!

only to find a few hours later the op isnt realy needed

after over 12 months of cancelled ops(3 times)

i expected to roll in at 7.30,operated on by 10am,home by 5pm,in bed for a couple of days then back to work.
oh well.

hospital is a very humbling place though,all the genuine patients who are there because they have to be and are approaching the end of their lives-its horrible to see.......

then they go out for a fag!

I agree. Although, when they get to that stage giving up smoking isn't really going to do much in the grand scheme of things.

My grandad had smoked all his life, died when he was 96. Towards the end, he was deaf and partially blind after a stroke, smoking his pipe was probably the only thing he really enjoyed in life.
