Default Any zetec turbo experts here?

Basically I want to start a new project when i finally get my cossie up and running, hopefully in the next month or two, and with me having possibly THE best and cheapest scrap yard about a mile from my house i have been thinking about building a track car with zetec turbo power.
What i really need to know, preferably from someone who has actually built thier own engine, is what do i need?????????????? As I'm sure i'll manage to find it a rock bottom prices.

a silver top 2.0 zetec engine
an 1800 zetec sump & flywheel
a focus rs exhaust manifold
fiesta turbo management
a rebore to 86 mm & some vauxhall LET pistons
a t3 turbo

i would say that would be the cheepest, or instead of going for them pistons you could use a decompression plate or get the standard pistons skimmed down

RS1800 inlet manifold is another good bit to use, with the skyline injectors. the standard zetec inlet mani isnt much cop.

Cheers, everytime i'm in persley I think about it, there were loads of mondeos etc... the other day and every other zetec engined car you could think of. I wandered about the pistons, i read that u can skim them as you mentioned but it says it severly weakens them as they are not designed for a turbo car anyway, but it doesn't say what kind of boost level is safe/reccomended.

firstly, what power do you want?

i sold a 1.8 zetec to a lad afew years ago, he was building 1.8zvh and skimming the stock pistons 1mm - made 250bhp and was featured in FF - before i worked here

if you want about 250 it can be done quite cheap

if you want more, it will cost

Cheers for the help, something 250bhp or under is more than adequate for my needs/wants especially if it's just a track car, i have two options, both using a KA if i can, one turbo and one, 1.6 N/A.

How much Lol....nah i can't do it justnow!
I wanted to buy a whole car so i don't have to scroung for every single fookin' bit. Had enough problems trying to get new bits for the sierra.

yes, i did actually!

on monday i opened the bonnet to show someone the engine, and then pushed it around the work shop to move it over

still waiting to get the plenum back, and a Zetec exhaust flange so i can get the sx one chopped off, and the zetec one welded on

then its a case of sorting out a deal to get all the coolers and tanks done etc

its gonna cost

Totally agree with that, and a standard 1.8 Zetec inlet too, they are more than capable.
