2000 passat service light on dash
fookin thing gives a loud bong when ign put on and in big reg letters on the dash service now lol
how the hell do i switch it off doing my head in now, ps car has been serviced just not by main dealer

Did you get your scanner yet ?
If it`s got a VAG cartridge this will do it.......you will need the DL16 lead and S7 key.....the scanner will tell you the rest...

it does do everything else on the car mate for some reason just that one thing it wouldnt do
ive had it on all sorts of cars now including a 2005 astra all sems to work and pull/reset codes, bloody good tool once you get used to the menus

May need VAGCOM for that one then mate,will make some inquiries tomorrow.......maybe something stupidly simple though like holding the trip reset while you turn on the ignition or something...

on my 97 passat I can turn the service interval thing off just by using the buttons on the dash

Push and hold the milage reset while you turn on the ignition works on most of them around that age IIRC

na dont work on mine
if i was dodgy id just plug in my my mileage correction tool and wind the miles back a couple thousand that would switch it off

you have to press the right button turn on ign wait a few secs then turn the left button clockwise and hold
