steve dont think the 4x4 box would
but yeah as steve says
davecos4x4 is on a standard engine, hes got the same theory as steve i belive
standard engine, when it goes its easier to find another one and not as much cash to get sorted

not really, its well proven that the stock bottomend can do well over 500bhp, and revs are a bigger killer (IF a car is set up right) than boost pressure, so yup, mental boost is possible if set up right for it.

Ps
Main reason they take so much boost is the head is fucking shite, so massive boost doesnt actually equal much air going into the engine![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Renaul 5s do it even better, 2 bar of boost and still not under any strain inside the engine as nothing gets into it, lol

R5s do it mostly due to the carb! its fucked it before the head is anywhere near, lol.
BUT i wouldnt call the heads shite, both these engines need big boost due to seemingly low flowing heads, but these small ports etc are what gives both these engines seemingly fantastic torque and drivability over their "rivals".
Boost is your friend.

Just remember that boost isnt a measure of power, its a measure of how much the engine is resisting making power.

You are aware are you that the peak pressures on the big ends arent really any higher than they are in a N/A motor as the timing is retarded to spread the increased load over a larger percentage of the cycle.
The pressures dont get any higher, if they did you would get det, in fact the opposite is true, the PCP come down slightly as boost increases as the hotter intake charge is more likely to det.
