Quite a few stations around here were already at 99.9p/litre and the old pumps in the local garage can't go any higher so I guess he'll either close or start pricing per half litre as I'm sure he can't afford to absorb 2p/litre for the Government.

Exactly mate

this country is a country full of moaners who sit back and let the covernment walk all over them
If we actually stood up and said NO they would have to listern

Remember the poll tax I know they just changed it to council tax but it shows if we stood up they have to listern

come on lads, lets keep things in perspective.

what are we talking here, an extra 2 quid or something a week? if that?!

i regularily spend 150+ sheets on 1 night out...

and probably the same again eating out every other ocuple of nights because i LOVE food...an extra 2 quid or whatever aint gonna bankrupt you is it!

fair enough its yet ANOTHER government sting...but we are talking pence lads...FFS

and even if you had riots protesting and they dropped the price, they'd sting you some other way anyway!!! so just fucking get on with it.

Look at it from this perspective.

If the Tories were still in power, then fuel would be around the Ł1.20 a litre mark - this is due to their rolling year on year duty increase on fuel - now you would have something to moan about then

the food, when you eat out, has to be delivered at some point, the chefs and waiters need to get to work.... it's the lowest common denominator, so EVERYTHING goes up.

God knows I'm not a Tory, but it is Labour who has slapped the increases on Road Fund Licence - Ł300 this year and Ł400 next year. I don't think they'll stop till they reach Italian levels of road tax on "gas guzzlers".

It's also Labour who have brought in all the stealth taxes, and who keep re-announcing the same spending commitments like they more often they tell us, the more money they are spending - actually, it WAS Labour who came up with the wheeze of "double-counting:
Announce Ł100m a year the NHS for the next three years.

Year 1: Ł100m - fair enough
Year 2: Ł100m + last years Ł100m = Ł200m. Er, not in Labour-world where it was Ł100m for last year and another Ł100m for this year, so that must be Ł300m
Year 3: Ł100m + Ł100m for each of the last two years. In Labour sums that became Ł100m in year 1, Ł300m in year two, and Ł600m in year three, or Ł1000m in total.

fuel duty is going up another 2p in april aswell.

and bear in mind when they put it up say 2p, it actually goes up 2p plus vat (the government keeps that one quiet)

fuel protests will never happen again since labour brought in emergency powers to quash anything like that after the last lot

brown knows he could put it up to Ł50 a litre right now and still get voted back in cos nobody would vote for that Cameron burk in a million years lol

brown wants to price cars off the road, quash binge drinking by bringing pub closing times back in, price smoking off the road, ban everything etc etc. this is what happen when a dweeb school swot type is put in charge of a country, i bet that cunt has never had a night out or shagged a bird or nowt

Dont have to do the same as last time. A march through london that brought the city to a halt would make a very powerful statement, and would be technically legal!

surely if a protest happened and the MAN kept moving protesters, normal people would soon catch on that the MAN is bullying us into paying more money.
there would be a nationwide uprise

Agreed. The problem is that nobody is doing anything. We have to get something sorted.

Have lorry drivers not done a rolling road block or similar about fuel prices some time in the past?

could something like that be done?

its a sad day when the government has us all over a barrel, fuel was getting cheaper a few months ago as well.

scumbag labour! wouldnt vote or trust them ever!

To be honest - the best thing is to get all together in one place at one time. If you do a protest in London - people will come just for the sake of it. That was how the Poll tax thing started. Not suggesting that we want a riot - not at all, but they need to see how upset people are.

these days if it doesnt happen in london, then it dont happen at all!

Alternatively, if only we could have organised it for last week at the location of the Labour Party Political broadcast!

The timing should preferably be just after Labour announce an election. Thereby, the Tories can jump on the bandwagon, and offer proper deductions from tax! Hurrah!
