God knows I'm not a Tory, but it is Labour who has slapped the increases on Road Fund Licence - £300 this year and £400 next year. I don't think they'll stop till they reach Italian levels of road tax on "gas guzzlers".
It's also Labour who have brought in all the stealth taxes, and who keep re-announcing the same spending commitments like they more often they tell us, the more money they are spending - actually, it WAS Labour who came up with the wheeze of "double-counting:
Announce £100m a year the NHS for the next three years.
Year 1: £100m - fair enough
Year 2: £100m + last years £100m = £200m. Er, not in Labour-world where it was £100m for last year and another £100m for this year, so that must be £300m
Year 3: £100m + £100m for each of the last two years. In Labour sums that became £100m in year 1, £300m in year two, and £600m in year three, or £1000m in total.
