Default AFR kits

So i got an 066 Bosch lamda sensor.......what else do i need for a fairly accurate AFR read out?

Whats the cost,i'd rather buy the parts rather than actually make one from Maplins!!!

Phil, Dont mess about making one - Buy one pre-made and calibrated !
There are several on the market but the more you pay the better it will be.
Also, I dont need to tell you make sure it uses a sensor that has
AT LEAST 5 wires.
It makes false economical sense to save a few quid when it could prevent
damage to a Ł3000 engine. (or what ever it cost)

To answer your SMS text message you sent me.....
The map I will supply you for the S8 ecu was from a 520 Bhp engine
using 8 803's and T4 hybrid with a roller bearing core and made 520 bhp.
This map will do to get you running.
I will add 4 safety features which you can easily disable at your leisure
and at your own risk.
1) FUEL OFFSET INCREASED TO ENSURE RICH MIXTURE ON BOOST
2) IGNITION RETARD OFFSET
3) REV LIMIT 7000 rpm.
4) BOOST LIMIT 28 psi

i remember a thread a year or so ago phil when you tried to argue with me that my diy AFR was shit - now here you are looking in to buying one after finally realising what a necessity they are if you intend to do any diy tuning at all.

it seems that the turd is finally getting polished

NOTHING gives you more confidence in your engine when thrashing it
than an accurate wideband lambda meter.
I would never have a turbo car without one now

Phil, you will be able VERY SOON to link any wideband back into the S8 ecu for
autotuning and engine meltdown prevention.

Phil,
ALL upgrades are software based. I.E When they become available,
it is only a matter of copying a file from the net to your PC then downloading
to the ECU.
Also they are FREE OF CHARGE.

ALS is being dyno tested at the moment by a well known tuner who wishes to
remain anonymous.

Yes but will it mean you DONT need the afr kit...just the lamda to check the afr via the laptop via the ECU?

At present, there is no "ON BOARD" electronics for wideband sensors only
narrow band types as this would add extra expense to the ECU that not everyone
would need.
This means you need an interface to convert the wideband sensor data to a format
suitable for the ECU. I will be doing a black box interface to enable a wide band
to be directly connected to the ECU at a later date.

The ECU can read existing widebands meter such as Motec PLM etc either using a
linear voltage interface and/or serial data protocol depending on type.

NARROW BAND
Yes you can plug a narrow band straight in the ECU and read BASIC AFR.
(Rich/Lean/Stoicometric) (Stoicometric means chemically perfect AFR that is not lean and not rich)
This is only good for idle and light load - ECU will always auto tune using
narrow band provided this basic mapping in these ranges is near enough.
On boost, the ecu checks for lean off conditions and will cut the engine if
detected but there is no guarantee that this will prevent meltdowns.

WIDEBAND
Wide band measures the correct AFR for all engine conditions.

I would recomend buying an independant wideband meter as you can leave this in
the car permanently to keep an eye on things (Confidence booster)
Plus you will be able to connect to the ecu to perform as per narrow band
and also use the autotune function (coming soon).
Also this will be able to check the actual AFR against the mapped AFR and
prevent meltdowns (Except if caused by detonation)

Hope this makes sense Phil.

As the p*ss is being taken here out of me......YET AGAIN

I service customers in the order that I get the money/written orders.
These customers get their products on time as agreeded on order confirmation.
Everyone else will get serviced after that in turn ASAP.
As every company needs cash flow to survive.
I am sorry if this offends anyone in any way but that is just the way it is.
