ive got a off the self chip 4 my car just told them the spec of my car, and it goes really well and the fuel Consumption seems to be really good aswell
but would getting my car lived mapped really make a Difference

from what i have seen a live map custom to the car is always worth 20-30 bhp.

Not sure how fuel consumption goes as its not something thats so important to me.

Just aswell mpg doesn't matter to you euan .

My mpg is at a very acceptable level for the power but its not something that worries me too much.

Good mapping usually means good consumption(for spec)

Off the shelf chip even to your spec will be a guess- depending on where its from depends on how good a guess it is.

A live map will always be better but it depends masivly on how much you have to spend being as you've just got a chip AND how you drive the car.

Live map will be better 99% of the time.
But add in the cost of mapping, and use of the car and also what tune it is, and it may not be so good, money wise.
If it is just routine stuff then you will see a benefit but could be very little to a lot depending on how good your engine is/chip was as most are not guesses but based on past experience of same cars with same mods, so you get an average.
It is not so much bhp that will go up though it can but driveability that will be so much better.

What sort of spec is your car?

Im a huge fan of livemapping as then its right for YOUR engine, but on the other hand, some of the off the shelf chips out there (like the greens and T34 chip from stu@msd) are so well refined now it really is hard to get much better than them on that spec engine anyway.
