a few months ago (july) a friends brother crashed into my car (reversed into the wing while reversing out of the garage) he offerd to pay for it, so i booked it into a body shop and it is going in in 2 weeks or so... (the only time he had a free appointment) BUT i can barely get in contact with either my mate or his brother... he is grabbing all the "extra" shifts he can at work... as is his brother... i am 19 with only 1 year NCB, soon to be 2 (hopefully...) so to file a claim against him would take my NCB away and my insurance would rise more than the £200-300 its gonna cost to get my car fixed... i have threatened to talk to their parents if nothing happens by the end of the week (have said i need a door in the same colour)! its doing my head in as i see the brother out loads round town and every time i see hime he dissapears, either to another club or another part of the bar... is there anything else i can do other than talk to the police, coz i dont think a ban would hold me in good favour with anybody and it would mostly be my word against his... grr... thats what i feel i am doing...

 

Get your mate to sort it out!

It's his brother, either that or get it sorted then give him a good dent in the door and say "blank paying me, put it towards that"

 

i think its safe to say your not going to see any cash towards it know and it would probably be denied by him if you went to the police .remember also that bloods thicker than water so your mate will probably back his brother up if pushed into it. looks like your going to have to fix it yourself unfortunately and think about how you can get your own back in the near future.

 

dont mention it at all to the insurance even if you are fixing it yourself as once they know about it they will still put it down on your record as an accident.

 

If you are going to claim against him it will come off his insurance and not yours!

 

Sorry fella this is sounding like one of those situations that you're going to just have to foot the bill for and chalk up to experience.

just say bollox to it all and go and bash the living fuck out of him.

 

go to the police and say he left the scene of an accident and didnt leave any detials, they will send him a letter and i expect at his age he will shit him self and cough up then just withdraw the complaint from the police.

 

as above, just make sure you know the date and time (you'll have to make it from the last day or so) and that he would have been driving then and can't say he was on holiday or something.

 

hmm... thanks for the help! gonna give it to the end of the week and bring out the police if nothing happens... then see what happens... other than that i think im fucked... will just wait till he has passed and then get a shtter for a day and slam my breaks on infront of him...
