I wonder how many heli crashes could have been escaped with using autorotation?
I mean it's supposed to be practiced, but in 'that' situation is someone gonna be able to glide the bugger to the ground?

I think they become a necessity if you conduct your business all over the British isles and further afield. It saves on the whole check in/ mixing with the great unwashed
It seems they are the norm for these folk that have the income and the desire/need for them. According to the Scottish papers, Colin McRae's was purchased second hand around four years ago from another rally driver, Brian Lyall who was quoted as saying the craft was in 'outstanding condition'.
It doesn't alter the fact that they are inherently dangerous fuckers that defy grafity without the ability to generate lift the same way a plane, or birds wing does.
I have flown in one as a kid, I would be apprehensive about it now but I wouldn't let that stop me.

i have watched Bryan Lyall many times rallying and knew he sold all
or most of his car dealerships in scotland to sell helicopters,i never
knew it was one of his,but i'm certain colins would have been a good
one.
i have had a "moment" on a plane and flying scares me, but it scares
me even more when you see how flimsy helicopters look from the inside.
why have they not got substantial rollcages built into them?
if its correct what someone said regards impact speeds,
many rallycars have serious impacts at over 100mph and look at
how they are built nowadays
