Default Crying smiley

Not sure if anyone else feels the same, but I consider the smiley with tears coming out to be tears of laughter. Don't know why, suppose it's the expression on it's face.

Can the mods not get another more sad looking crying smiley?

What I mean is there's a lot of threads (take Mcrae thread for eg) that people seem to use the crying smiley for sadness when to me it (and I'm sure many others) see it as a funny smiley.

Granted not everyone is seeing it the same way as me but most do, as in pi55 take posts and funny stuff most use it as a 'cry with laughter' type smiley.

Like this, looks like sad to me (borrowed from MLR)

This looks like laughter

Agree. I won't use the smiley in any actual sad posts purely cause i feel like it makes me look like i'm taking the piss

Yes, the " " smiley is a piss-take, crying with laughter smiley, so doesn't suit threads about people dying or tragic events.....

We did used t have a second crying smiley, that was : cry2 : but that smiley has changed and now looks like this - .... Which is daft as it has nothing to do with crying, and is more of a "hopping mad" kinda smiley......

yep spot on, that cant be mistaken for laughter

To me if i just joined this site id think was crying because.........well its crying aint it but the regulars on here use it as laughter, so its a mixed bag really, having a sad looking crying smiley right next to the laughter one would then mean people can see the difference between the two before using them and pick the right one

Saw a couple of the smileys in the colin mcrae post and it read like they were taking the piss cause of how I interpret that smiley, which is obviously NOT how it was intended.

Moving the tears one to the main list instead of the second normal smile one would be my plan, that still leaves the and ones anyway
