Personally for my fwd car, it's one the only diffs available (other than an M-sport plated LSD). It's has been proven to be reliable, with no plates to wear out and takes standard transmission fluid. It's a straight swap for the standard one in my case and it's not too expensive and makes a huge difference to the cornering, so i'm happy.

As above really (other than for my car I can get a plated or ATB type), although the downside is it can be a bit snatchy IME

Can only agree on that. Bought a secondhand ATB. Fitted it in an secondhand gearbox. replaced the bearings in the box and fitted the ATB.
Since then less understeer into and out of the corners and this with higher speeds coming out. Only minor downside is the increase in torquesteer ( or how you call it ) .
Rate the Quaife diff higher than the RTS viscous diff

Not an easy question to answer as one car and driving style may benefit from one type and another combination of driver and car may benefit from another.

Typically though, for launching, ive always found an ATB to be superior as it doesnt let one wheel spin first before it tries to transfer the power, and likewise for cornering, plate diffs have a tendancy to make you go in a straight line when you accelerate out of a bend.

Traction is a relatively meaningless to ask about as thats not really what the diff effects, it merely changes how you make use of the available traction in very specific circumstances.
