Default Standard RST gearboxes, what power?

At what kind of bhp/torque do they explode?

Would a quaiffe atb diff in the box make much difference to this figure?

Cheers

anything around 200ft/lb and they are a time bomb, but then again some can go higher and survive.
If you are talking about yours though, dont be fucking ridiculous
A quaife atb will make f all difference in fact might make it more likely to strip teeth.

GET A STG2+ how many time do i have to say

depends how the 'recon' is done

some supposed uprated ones have the mainshaft machined down and sleeved. to save buying a new one, and this makes them even weaker than standard.

never buy a recon box with out a brand new manishaft in it

Have just heard back from Barra, he said the only good bits in my box are:
quaiffe atb
3.82 final drive wheel

I need to get another std box and swap these 2 into it, but as Im getting rid of the car, I might just put a standard box in so I can 'drive' it and sell the above 2 things seperately.

If I was keeping the car, then I would get a stage 2+!

Just want to get the car to the feature, then its being sold.......

stu how much have you spent on the car ?

why keep it and get jano to fiit a mtx75 to it,, better ratios for the car and a stronger box too !!!

why waste all that cash on a car then sell it on,,,, would you get 4k for it ?

I didn't realise you were selling up, you will seriously struggle to sell it with anything less than a stg2 box in there, you will end up having to break it imo.
Putting a std box in there wont last 5 seconds, but I suppose you could just get it to the feature (carefully!!) then strip it after?

But I reckon selling it will be impossible with a std box people wont be willing to buy it then spunk Ł1500 on a stg2+

If your careful a standard box will last a fair bit of time to get you round/sell it. Ive had a totally standard XR3i box on mine for the last 2 months whilst I have my CTS 2+ box sorted and its been ok. Whines and groans a bit now mind but its taking a bit of abuse. The diff seems alright as long as you put the power down ont he striaghts, any kind of corner tand the diff groans immediantely

My car is approx. 240bhp btw.

Dont want to fit an mtx box as I dont want the chassis touching at all, its minter than mint and a clean one at that. Would be a a shame to do that to it!

reason I'm selling (taken from another post)

To be honest, cant really justify it at the moment. Its not being used, and when I do use it I'm now scared to use it like it should be used incase I break something again.

The gearbox is currently with Barra Motorsport after I destroyed something in it.

That coupled with the fact I was made redundant about 3 months ago & had to take a 7.5k paycut doesnt particularly help.

I want someone to get the use out of it that I havent been able to, the engine still has semi in it!!

Sad times, especially when I look at the pics of it...

mate its a shame for all the cash you have into it

but then what would you sell it for ?

imo you would be better either breaking it or keeping it

Nuts Rus -

Ginge!

Yes mate it is a shame, I dont know how much it would sell for, but the chassis alone (should) be a fair bit..

If I dont get anything decent offered for it after the feature, I will pull it apart!

Thanks for answering my questions tho people!
