anybody know what sort of price to pay for a sierra p100 pick up ,been looking around for one to do a wee project on ,cossie rep sort of thing

one has turned out local to me and to say its a good one is a understatement ,no rust anywhere and only a wee ding below the rear light ,its a j-reg ,2.0 pinto with no mot only prob is the diff which has given ,the guy wants £200 which i thought was ok

another question ,where can i get alloys as its a five stud patteren and can u drop the rear easlly

cheers for any info

its a pretty niche market car if you ever want to sell it.

i would NEVER buy a cossie'd / cossie rep one over a normal at the same price no matter the spec.

rear end swaps are tricky as you don't have the normal sierra pick up points for the suspensino (need welding in)

the front's are a straightforward swap over for normal sierra stuff thoguih

just got me a p100.

The front is the same as sierra but the p100 shocks are 25mm longer under the front springs. not that you'd save p100 shocks) If you upgrade stick to 2wd sierra stuff as the 4wd is all different except spring on the front.

As for the rear, people usually use a capri axle and brakes with xr4 front brakes. This keeps the versatile 4x108 stud pattern for most ford wheels.
Capri axles do however need spacers on the back to my knowledge as the are a tad sorter than the front track.
You can lower the back with blocks or capri springs but i'd combine capri/p100 leaf components to keep some kinda strength.
As mentioned if you get busy with a welder you can weld the sierra rear suspension on but it a precission job.

Hope it helps.

The traditional (easy) way to drop leaf spring suspension is to use lowering blocks and longer U-shackles - the block goes between the spring and the axle, lifting the axle an inch or so closer to the bodywork and dropping the body that much closer to the floor.

Don't know if these are still made, but used to be very commonly used on Mk 2 Escorts.
